Dear Friends, It's hard to believe that already we are entering a new liturgical year as we approach the holy Season of Advent. As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior, I am truly looking forward to my first Christmas with you! Our staff and parish council have already been planning to make our Advent and Christmas a blessed time. In the midst of the "busy-ness" which can all to easily overcome us we Catholics, in our sacramental life, have the opportunity to find a true spiritual center. Of course, the heart of that peace is best experienced at our daily and Sunday celebrations of the Eucharist. Please join us! This season is also a special time to "come home" to our inner serenity through the sacrament of Reconciliation. I am available at the usual times, and anytime by appointment, to humbly accompany you to the deep joy of the freedom of God's mercy. This year our Advent theme will be "Come and Journey with me!" The parish council invites you, through your generosity, to journey with the hungry and homeless of Shelburne (YES, Shelburne) and with the poorest of the poor in Haiti. Your contributions will support both our town food shelf and also the annual mission of our local physicians to our needy brothers and sisters in dire need of medical attention in Haiti. By adding these efforts to your Christmas list, as you use the enclosed envelope you will indeed "journey" to hearts which need to be reminded of the nearness of our God. This is truly the mission of our Christmas celebration - to once again make Jesus present to a waiting world. Please know of my constant prayers for you and of my gratitude to God for entrusting me to such a wonderful faith community In Jesus' love,
