P.R.E.P. is the Parish Religious Education Program
of Saint Catherine of Siena Church

It is a well-rounded Catechesis program for children in Kindergarten through Tenth Grade.
Confirmation PREP is a two-year program for Ninth and Tenth Grades

• PREP
  The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be

  celebrated at PREP next Sunday, March 11.

  Grades 2 - 8:  4:30 - 6:00 p.m.

  at the school.

  Grades 9 - 10:  6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

  in the Church.

• Hall Monitors Needed: Due to the recent incidents at the school in Essex, we feel it is very important that we take extra precautions in keeping our children, teachers and aides safe during our PREP classes. We are looking for additional help in the form of hall monitors. It is our hope than enough people will come forward so a rotating schedule can be set up. This is an ideal opportunity for parents with younger children to be part of the program once a month. A sign-up sheet is available in the rear of the Church or please call Marie at 434-4782.   Bishop Matano Visits Saint Catherine's
   Coadjutor Bishop Salvatore Matano visited Saint Catherine's on Saturday, October 15. He celebrated 5:15 Mass with the 9th and 10th grade students and delivered a stirring homily on religion in our world today. He urged the students to look at religion as the underpinning and source of support for all other areas of life.

      The Bishop quoted George Washington from his Farewell Address, "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens".

      After Mass, Bishop Matano joined the students for a reception in the parish hall.

   By an unanimous vote, the Pastors of the South Burlington Deanery voted to require Rice Memorial students preparing to receive Confirmation to attend their parish religious education programs for ninth and tenth grades.  All ninth and tenth grade students must attend PREP classes to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, unless special arrangements are made with Father DeForge.
